Article Marketing is #1 to Bring Bang for your Buck in your Promotions

Article marketing via blogs, newsletters, article directories, and social media posts should be close to a #1 priority. If you don’t keep putting real effort into marketing, your online business will quickly fail. You have to let the people know you’re online and what you’re all about. One way to easily and inexpensively market your business is by either writing articles or hiring someone to write them for you.

The purpose of these articles to draw attention and to promote your website through the use of backlinks in the articles. Plus, it’s a smart strategy for good search engine optimization. These articles are like fingers pointing the way to your site and driving traffic there.

Every online marketer knows that the more targeted traffic a website receives, the higher the likelihood is that sales will increase. Targeted traffic is people with an interest in your niche who visit your site. You can’t sell your products if no one knows what you have to offer.

If you want to understand the importance of article marketing in a word, it could be defined as advertising. That’s what article marketing does for you. Article marketing advertises your business – but it does it for a lot less than traditional methods like paid advertising ever could.

Once the articles are written and edited, the next step is to post them on your blog, in your newsletter, on social media, and to submit them to article directories. Always put in the effort to create fresh content, because if you just switch around a few words like some of the “secret” software some “gurus” have flogged, it just won’t pass the plagiarism test most directories now use.

When you submit to more than one directory, it reaches much deeper into the pool of traffic available for the type of website you’re promoting than it would if you didn’t promote this way. Just be aware that if you send any one article to too many directories, you can still be accused of plagiarism, even though it’s your own article.

When people do a search for something covered in your article, it could come up in the search results, prompting them to read the content (so, make it relevant and engaging), and if they decide they’ve gained important or interesting information from you they may follow the link to learn even more.

Read the rules carefully concerning backlinks. Some directories won’t allow them inline in an article and will only allow you to share them in your signature.  Others don’t care where you put them.

Submitting articles to directories should be an important part of your ongoing marketing strategy, rather simply submitting one or a small handful of articles and then forgetting about it. The more well-written, relevant, and thus well-received articles you submit, the more you build you reputation as an expert in your niche. As you become recognized as a knowledgable leader in your field, you’ll begin to rise and rank in the search engines.

When you write your articles (or have them written) you must first take the time to develop a specific strategy. For example, if you’re writing about how to make money writing articles, you could create articles like this one on why articles are important for marketing, why people read them and how they write their own or how to hire someone to write them for them.

Make sure you provide the directories with enough information to gain the reader’s interest enough to click on the link to your article or it won’t even get read. But you also need to make sure your article is interesting and informative enough to make them want to click the link to your website! If you write good articles that provide real value, you will get traffic to your site. Don’t write hard-hitting sales copy, or prospective customers will simply click away.
